How much does TikTok pay in 2026? Real payout data, sourced

How much does TikTok pay in 2026? What it pays for views, LIVE gifts, Subscription, TikTok Shop sales and brand deals, with a dated source for every figure and our own data on what a typical video earns.
On this page
How much does TikTok pay? For views, very little: TikTok publishes no rate, and its Creator Rewards Program is commonly reported to pay $0.40 to $1.00 per 1,000 qualified views. That is $400 to $1,000 for a million qualified views, and only on original videos over 1 minute from accounts with 10,000 followers. TikTok pays more generously through Subscription, where creators keep 70% to 90% of what is left after app store fees, and through TikTok Shop commission. Brand deals usually pay the most per post.
Last checked: 5 October 2026, for US accounts.
Every figure below has a source and a date. Where TikTok publishes the number, we link its own page. Where it doesn't, we say so and use the most credible reporting we could find, plus Postdom's own data on what real accounts get.

| LIVE gifts and Video Gifts | Diamonds from Gifts. TikTok doesn't publish its share or a Diamond's value. Trackers estimate about $0.005 a Diamond | TikTok Help Center. Soundstripe, 16 Sep 2026 (estimate) |

How much does TikTok pay per view
TikTok pays per view only through the Creator Rewards Program, and it doesn't publish a rate. The commonly reported range is $0.40 to $1.00 per 1,000 qualified views, or $0.0004 to $0.001 a view. Influencer Marketing Hub (updated 1 October 2026), Soundstripe (16 September 2026) and Fourthwall (13 August 2026) all give that range. None of them publishes its underlying data, so treat it as a guide. TikTok's own US program terms say only that rewards are based on "total legitimate video views and other signals."
Payouts come on the 15th once you have at least $50. If your balance stays under $50, the terms say TikTok may treat the unpaid amount as expired. At $1.20 to $3 for a typical 3,000-view video, that is 17 to 42 such videos before you see a payout.
Your RPM is your rewards divided by your qualified views, times 1,000. So $70 on 100,000 qualified views is an RPM of $0.70. Two things decide where you land, according to TikTok's rewards explainer. The Standard Reward depends on qualified views, the regions your viewers are in and the language of your content. The Additional Reward depends on quality: average watch time, how many viewers stay past 30 to 90 seconds, completion rate and how often people find the video through search. TikTok also says older audiences and content in the local language can earn more, because advertisers value them more.
| Views on the counter | If every view qualifies | If half qualify |
|---|---|---|
| 1,000 | $0.40 to $1 | $0. The video hasn't reached the 1,000 qualified For You views it needs |
| 10,000 | $4 to $10 | $2 to $5 |
| 100,000 | $40 to $100 | $20 to $50 |
| 1 million | $400 to $1,000 | $200 to $500 |
| 10 million | $4,000 to $10,000 | $2,000 to $5,000 |
TikTok publishes no qualifying share. "Half" is an illustration, not a TikTok figure. Only eligible videos over 1 minute, from eligible accounts, earn anything.

What counts as a qualified view
The view counter on your video is not the number TikTok pays on. TikTok's program page says a view qualifies only if:
- Someone watches for at least 5 seconds, or 30 seconds if they found it through search.
- They didn't tap "Not interested".
- It's their first view. Repeat views from one account count once.
- They are in one of the 8 program countries: the US, UK, Germany, Japan, South Korea, France, Mexico or Brazil.
- It isn't paid or fraudulent, and the video isn't an ad or sponsored post.
How big is the gap? TikTok doesn't say, and it varies by video. Fourthwall uses an illustrative video with 100,000 public views and 72,000 qualified ones. Soundstripe says 1 million public views may yield only 500,000 qualified views. You can see your own qualified views for each video in the Creator Rewards dashboard.
How much does TikTok pay for 1 million views
About $400 to $1,000, if all 1 million views qualify and the video meets the rules. That is the commonly reported $0.40 to $1.00 per 1,000 views, multiplied out. A million on the view counter will usually be fewer qualified views, so the real figure is often lower.
The video also has to qualify in the first place. It must be original, over 1 minute long and reach 1,000 For You views, from a Personal account with 10,000 followers and 100,000 views in the last 30 days. Duets, Stitches, ads and photo-mode posts earn nothing from Creator Rewards, however many views they get.
Here is the useful comparison. Later's 2026 pricing guide puts a single sponsored TikTok from a creator with 10,000 to 100,000 followers at $800 to $2,500. Marketplace deals are often smaller, but one brand deal can pay more than a million views.
What a typical TikTok video earns: our data
Most pay guides start with a million views. Most videos never get near that. Postdom's short-video study included 1,120 TikToks from 140 business, brand and creator accounts. The median account had about 28,000 followers, and its median video drew about 3,000 views. At the commonly reported rates, a 3,000-view video would earn about $1.20 to $3 from Creator Rewards, and only if it ran over a minute and every view qualified.
Local service businesses did better on views. Their typical video drew about 6,000 views, which would be worth about $2.40 to $6. In the other niches in the study, including software and consumer brands, it ranged from about 2,300 to 3,200. That is why the money for these accounts comes from customers, not from TikTok. And a Business account can't join Creator Rewards at all.
Does a longer video earn less?
Creator Rewards only pays for videos over 1 minute, so length matters. In the 1,272 videos in our study (1,120 TikToks and 152 Reels), videos of 60 to 90 seconds and those over 90 seconds showed no clear difference in views from the same account's other videos. TikToks over 90 seconds drew 29% more saves and 26% more shares per view. For local service businesses, videos over 90 seconds drew 2.92 times the views, in our study of TikTok by industry.
TikTok's own advice points the same way. It says the Additional Reward rises with watch time and retention, and recommends a hook in the first 5 seconds. Our data on hooks agrees: hooks written on screen drew 1.79 times the views of the same account's other videos. Our guide on how to go viral on TikTok covers the rest.
TikTok Creator Fund vs Creator Rewards
Older guides still quote the Creator Fund. It closed in the US in December 2023, according to Business Insider, and the program that replaced it became Creator Rewards.
| Creator Fund | Creator Rewards Program |
|---|---|
| Status in the US | Closed in December 2023 |
| Who could join | 10,000 followers and 100,000 views in 30 days |
| Which videos earn | Any length |
| Reported pay per 1,000 views | About $0.02 to $0.04 |

Who TikTok pays: the requirements
TikTok only pays accounts that clear each program's bar. These are the US rules, from TikTok's own pages on 5 October 2026:
- Creator Rewards: 18 or older, 10,000 followers, 100,000 video views in the last 30 days, a Personal account in good standing, in one of 8 countries. TikTok's eligibility page.
- LIVE gifts: 18 or older and 1,000 followers to go LIVE, which may vary by region. TikTok Help Center.
- Video Gifts: 18 or older, 10,000 followers, an account at least 30 days old, a public video in the last 30 days and a Personal account. TikTok Help Center.
- Subscription: 18 or older, over 10,000 followers and over 100,000 views in the last calendar month. Creator Academy.
- Series: 18 or older, 10,000 followers, an account at least 30 days old, 3 public posts and 1,000 views in the last 30 days. Creator Academy.
- TikTok Shop affiliate: 18 or older, based in the US, 1,000 followers and an identity check. TikTok Shop Academy.
- Creator Marketplace: 18 or older, 10,000 followers, 1,000 post views and 3 posts in the last 30 days. TikTok Help Center.
All of them are free to join. None of them pays for followers on its own.
How much do TikTokers make?
Numbers that creators share are the best check on any rate, but they are scattered and rarely verified. Here are recent self-reported figures, then older ones a major outlet checked.
Recent payouts creators reported (2026, unverified)
- In January 2026, one creator in a Reddit thread said a video with 9.6 million views had earned about $750, mostly from the Additional Reward. After what they called a 4 December update, a 9 million-view video was at about $75. They post ASMR unboxings and toy reviews.
- In February 2026, another creator in the same thread said a video with 600,000 views earned $336 soon after they joined the program.
These are anonymous posts we can't verify. They show how far apart two creators with similar views can land, which matches what TikTok says about quality and audience mattering.
Payouts Business Insider verified (2022 and 2023)
- A TikTok couple earned almost $24,000 in June 2023 and a little over $87,000 in July 2023 from the Creativity Program, the beta that became Creator Rewards. Business Insider verified the figures with documents the creators provided (14 August 2023).
- In the same report, a food creator with 480,000 followers made $155 in his first month in the program and $1,300 in the next.
- Under Pulse, TikTok's earlier ad-sharing program, eight creators who shared 2022 data earned anywhere from a few cents to $17 per 1,000 views, Business Insider reported (9 January 2024).
These are standouts picked by reporters, not averages, and the program and its rules have changed since. Use them to see how wide the spread is, not to forecast your own pay.
How much does TikTok LIVE pay?
Viewers buy Coins and send them as Gifts during a LIVE. You receive Diamonds, which you can turn into money. TikTok's Diamonds page says you need to be 18 or over, in a country where Diamonds are available and in good standing. To go LIVE at all, TikTok's Help Center says you need 1,000 followers, which may vary by region. With 10,000 followers, Video Gifts let viewers send Gifts on your regular videos too.
TikTok doesn't publish how many Diamonds a Coin becomes, or what share of a Gift it keeps. In a 2022 BBC investigation into LIVE streams from displacement camps in Syria, BBC staff sent $106 of Gifts to a test account there, which ended the stream with a $33 balance. That was one account, in one country, four years ago. TikTok told the BBC its share was "significantly less than 70%" but wouldn't give a figure.
What helps: TikTok's LIVE guide says streams of 60 to 80 minutes tend to get more views than 10 to 20 minute ones, and the top 20 LIVE creators each week, ranked by Diamonds, get prizes.
How much are TikTok gifts worth?
To the viewer, a Gift costs the Coins shown next to it in the gift panel, and Coins are bought in packs whose price varies by pack size, country and whether you buy in the app or on the web. The BBC's 2022 report described Gifts ranging from digital roses costing a few cents to virtual lions costing around $500.
To the creator, a Gift is worth the Diamonds it turns into. TikTok doesn't publish a Diamond's value. Creators and trackers commonly put it at about half a US cent ($0.005), a figure Soundstripe repeats (16 September 2026). That is an estimate, not a TikTok figure, so treat any Gift-to-dollar calculator the same way.
How much does TikTok Subscription pay?
Subscription is TikTok's most generous split. Its Creator Academy guide says creators receive 70% of revenue after app store fees, and can earn a bonus that brings it to 90%. To get the bonus you need over 10,000 followers, over 100,000 views in the last calendar month and to post subscriber-only videos that month. You set the price, from $2.99 to $99.99 a month, with $5.99 as the default.
As a worked example, 100 subscribers at the default $5.99 bring in about $599 a month. TikTok doesn't say what the app stores take, and their fees vary. As an illustration, if they took 15% to 30%, keeping 70% to 90% of the rest would leave you roughly $290 to $460. The hard part is the 100 subscribers, and fans can cancel at any time.
How much does TikTok Shop pay?
TikTok Shop affiliates earn a commission on each item sold through their videos, photo posts or LIVEs. The seller sets the rate for each product, so there's no single figure. TikTok Shop's commission guide, dated 14 September 2026, confirms three rules:
- Commission is earned per item sold through your content.
- If a seller lowers a rate after you start promoting a product, you keep the old rate for 30 days. Rate rises apply straight away.
- Shoppable carousels earn 60% of the video commission rate by default, though sellers can change it.
For a typical rate, the clearest data we found is from MediaLabs, a TikTok Shop agency. Its May 2026 benchmarks, drawn from 150+ brands and public FastMoss data, put the median affiliate commission at 20%. On a $32 order, the average order value for MediaLabs' median seller, that is about $6.40 per sale. One agency's portfolio isn't the whole market, so check each product's rate in TikTok Shop before you promote it.
To join you need 1,000 followers in the US. Below 5,000 followers, you're limited to 3 shoppable videos a day and 3 shoppable LIVEs a week for at least 30 days, according to TikTok Shop's creator policy.
For a business, sales like these are the main income, and posting often enough to learn what sells is the hard part. Postdom makes short videos and slideshows from your website in your brand, and by default each one waits for your approval before it posts. They're short by design, 8 to 22 seconds, so they won't earn Creator Rewards. See the plans, including a Free plan whose posts carry a small Postdom watermark.
How much does TikTok pay for brand deals?
TikTok doesn't pay for brand deals. Brands do, and rates depend on followers, views, niche and how the brand can reuse the video. These are the typical ranges in Later's guide, published 7 July 2026:

- Nano, 1,000 to 10,000 followers: $200 to $500 a TikTok or Reel.
- Micro, 10,000 to 100,000: $800 to $2,500 a TikTok or Reel.
- Macro, 100,000 to 1 million: $2,500 to $10,000 or more per post, across formats.
- Mega, over 1 million: $10,000 to $50,000 or more, often sold as full campaign packages.
Marketplace data runs lower. Collabstr's 2026 report, based on more than 21,000 collaborations on its platform in 2025, found TikTok creators cost brands an average of $186, and 80% of campaigns on Collabstr came in under $300. Small, one-off deals are the norm there, so the Later ranges are best read as what an established creator can ask for.
When and how TikTok pays out
- Creator Rewards: worked out the month after you earn them, then paid on the 15th once you reach $50, through PayPal's Hyperwallet service, per TikTok's US terms. Balances that never reach $50 may expire. TikTok says withdrawals are typically processed within 72 hours.
- LIVE gifts and Video Gifts: Diamonds show under Profile, the menu (☰), Balance, then LIVE rewards. You can withdraw to a bank or PayPal account, depending on your region.
- Subscription: monthly, to the payment method on your account.
- TikTok Shop: commission per sale, withdrawable once you pass identity verification.
- Brand deals: paid by the brand, on whatever terms you agree.
For how to set each of these up, step by step, see our guide on how to make money on TikTok.
How to earn more per view
- Post longer, original videos. Only videos over a minute earn Creator Rewards, and our data found no clear view penalty for going long.
- Hold attention. TikTok's Additional Reward rises with watch time, retention and completion. A hook written on screen and a recap at the end both went with more views in our study.
- Make videos people search for. TikTok counts search value in the Additional Reward, and search views count once someone watches 30 seconds.
- Speak to your local audience. TikTok says content in the local language, and audiences with more buying power, can lift your RPM.
- Add a second income. A product, a service, TikTok Shop links or Subscription will out-earn views at almost any size.
What to avoid
- Trusting one viral screenshot. Payout posts online often skip the follower count, the countries the views came from and how many views qualified.
- Precise Diamond-to-dollar figures. TikTok doesn't publish one. Online calculators are estimates.
- Short videos for Creator Rewards. Under a minute earns nothing from the program. In our October trends scan, the four trend formats with the highest median views ran 8 to 17 seconds.
- Slideshows for Creator Rewards. Photo-mode posts are excluded. They can still carry TikTok Shop links.
- Letting a small balance sit. Creator Rewards under $50 may expire, so don't count on small amounts adding up forever.
- Paid views or followers. TikTok excludes them from rewards and can remove you from the program.
- "Get paid to scroll" offers. TikTok's creator programs pay for what you post and sell, not for watching.
A note on our numbers: Postdom's studies sample each account's best, worst and middle posts and compare each post with the same account's others, so the effects shown are larger than they would be across all posts. They are correlations, not proof of cause.
