Zapier social media workflows

Zapier social media workflows connect a content source to actions such as adding a post to a publishing queue or recording its result. Start with an app that supports your exact task. Postdom's public Zapier connector is not live: use an available Zapier app, a native scheduler, or Postdom's separate agent workflow instead.

Which Zapier social media workflow should you choose?

I want to use Zapier now

Choose a live app and inspect its actual trigger and action list. “Supports social media” does not tell you whether it can upload your video, create a draft, add to a queue or read the outcome.

Browse Zapier's social marketing apps

I want my agent to handle the request

Postdom has a separate MCP workflow that does not require Zapier. You supply the finished video; a human sets the permissions and reviews the exact audience and disclosure settings.

Follow the Claude Code setup guide

The released tool's request path was tested with local mock responses, not authenticated Claude Code publication to a real account.

Want a concrete starting point? Follow the RSS-to-Buffer walkthrough below. It uses the available pairing listed in Zapier's social automation guide, not a Postdom template.

How do you queue RSS articles in Buffer?

Use RSS by Zapier: New Item in Feed → Buffer: Add to Queue. This available third-party template shares article text and a link; it is not a finished-video upload or a Postdom integration. These are documented setup steps, not an authenticated test we performed.

Open the live “Buffer new items in an RSS feed” template. You will need to sign in to set it up. Buffer's connection guide explains its authorization flow; this Zapier connection uses OAuth, not a manually pasted API key.

  1. Prepare the feed and destination

Have a Zapier account, a Buffer account with an authorized channel that accepts text/link posts, and a working RSS feed. Start with a feed whose articles and social copy you control and approve before they enter it. This template does not add a human approval step. Check the channel's Buffer posting schedule and timezone before proceeding.

  2. Select New Item in Feed

Open the linked Buffer new items in an RSS feed template. In RSS by Zapier, use the New Item in Feed trigger and enter your RSS address in Feed URL. Test the trigger and select the exact article you intend to share. Check its title, article link and identifier; a sample or a newly detected article is not permission to publish it.

  3. Connect Buffer and map the article

Use Buffer's Add to Queue action and authorize the Buffer connection when prompted. Select the exact Organization and Channel. Check Method: use the option that adds to the queue, not immediate sharing. Insert the selected article's title and link into the action's post text, as in the example below. Read the resolved preview instead of leaving sample text or a sample URL in the fields.

  4. Authorize the live queue test

Confirm the human's permission for this exact article, wording and channel, including publication when its queue slot arrives. Zapier action tests are live: testing Add to Queue can create a real scheduled item. Run the action test only with that permission. A queue is not a private review area; use an appropriate draft or approval workflow instead if review is still outstanding.

  5. Inspect the result, then enable deliberately

In the selected Buffer channel, find that article in the queue and check its text, link and scheduled slot. Queued is not published; confirm the later outcome in Buffer and on the social channel. Keep the RSS item identifier and any returned Buffer item ID. If the test times out or errors, inspect the queue before retesting so you do not create a duplicate. Enable the Zap only when future feed items have the same approval boundary.

Map a reviewed article into the post

Here is an illustrative mapping, not a captured Zap run. Use the fields shown for your selected channel in the current Buffer action; replace the example feed and article with your own approved content.

Feed URL
https://example.com/feed.xml

Replace this illustrative address with your actual approved RSS feed, not a blog homepage.

Organization and Channel
Select your exact Buffer organization and channel

Choose these deliberately in the Buffer action. Do not derive the destination from untrusted feed text.

Method
Choose queueing, not immediate sharing

The action name Add to Queue can also send immediately. Check the selected method and the channel's schedule.

Post text
RSS item title + a line break + RSS item link

Insert dynamic fields from the selected trigger record. Field labels can vary with the channel and sample; verify the resolved title and URL shown below.

Media
No image or video attachment in this example

An article link is not a video file. Do not put it into an image/video field.

With the example title and article link inserted, the post text should resolve to:

Summer product update
https://example.com/news/summer-update

In Buffer, look for that exact text and link in the selected channel's queue, with the intended scheduled slot. Do not count a successful Zap test or a queued item as a published post. Reconcile this same item before retrying; creating a second Zap for the same feed and channel can also duplicate the workflow.

Need to send a finished video instead? This article-link example does not do that. Buffer's linked media guidance requires a direct media URL for attachments, plus support for that media on the chosen channel. It does not turn an article into a video.

Zapier documents connecting and mapping an action, live action tests and Filter setup and plan requirements. These are preparation steps, not a claim that we executed a Zap with your accounts.

What should your content row contain?

For a finished-video workflow starting in a spreadsheet or content database, keep these details together. This is an illustrative planning worksheet, not an importable Zap or a set of official app field names.

Source record
launch-animation

A stable identifier for this item, not just a row number that can move.

Finished video
Your approved media reference

Use a format and transfer method supported by the chosen action. A shared Drive page is not automatically a direct video URL.

Caption and account
Reviewed copy + exact account

Confirm the destination identity and content together.

Review and settings
Reviewer + content version + audience

A ready flag is a routing condition; human consent and the platform's disclosures still matter.

Timing
Intended time + timezone

Confirm which tool owns the schedule and what that time actually controls.

Outcome
Returned ID + actual status + error

Follow the original attempt instead of treating a trigger or accepted request as publication.

Before enabling it, try an unapproved item, a missing media reference and a source update caused by writing the result back. Each should take the path you intended, not accidentally create another post.

If you add an approval filter, compare the review field to the intended value, not to itself. A filter does not prove someone reviewed the content; retain the actual reviewer and content version.

Which Postdom workflows are proposed?

These 10 ideas are not live templates. Open the pairing closest to your source app to see its proposed trigger, steps and outcome. The order and original proposal wording are preserved; none is an installation instruction or a promised release date.

Postdom's scope is supplied finished video for 9 destinations: TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn, Facebook Reels, X, Snapchat Spotlight, Threads and Bluesky. Partner-app trigger names below are proposal text, not proof that the trigger has been tested. Video generation, where mentioned, belongs to an upstream tool.

1OpenAIProposed workflow · not installable

Publish OpenAI-generated video campaigns to TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts with Postdom

Original proposal · catalog rank 1 · priority P1

Proposed trigger
OpenAI: Response Created
Proposed steps
  1. Postdom: Publish Video
  2. Postdom: Post Reaches a Terminal State
  3. Postdom: Get Post
  4. Postdom: Get Performance
Intended outcome, not an observed result
An approved AI-generated campaign is scheduled across selected short-form destinations, then its real per-destination outcome and available performance evidence are read back.

An AI response is not necessarily a usable video file. Video creation belongs upstream; Postdom only publishes supplied video.

2AI agentProposed workflow · not installable

Let an AI agent plan a social week and schedule approved short-form video with Postdom

Original proposal · catalog rank 2 · priority P1

Proposed trigger
Webhooks by Zapier: Catch Hook from AI Agent
Proposed steps
  1. Postdom: Submit Publication Plan
  2. Human approval remains in Postdom
  3. Postdom: Publish Video
  4. Postdom: Post Reaches a Terminal State
  5. Postdom: Get Performance
Intended outcome, not an observed result
The agent proposes a bounded plan; Postdom preserves human guardrails and approvals before scheduling, and the next cycle receives normalized results.

The agent can propose a plan. It cannot approve itself, connect a social account for the human or widen its authority.

3Google SheetsProposed workflow · not installable

Schedule TikTok, Reels, and Shorts from Google Sheets and write outcomes back with Postdom

Original proposal · catalog rank 3 · priority P2

Proposed trigger
Google Sheets: New or Updated Spreadsheet Row
Proposed steps
  1. Postdom: Publish Video
  2. Postdom: Post Reaches a Terminal State
  3. Google Sheets: Update Spreadsheet Row
Intended outcome, not an observed result
Each ready row schedules a video and receives its terminal status without inventing unavailable metrics.

Keep the returned ID with the original row. A write-back must not re-trigger publication.

4NotionProposed workflow · not installable

Publish approved Notion videos to TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts with Postdom

Original proposal · catalog rank 4 · priority P2

Proposed trigger
Notion: Updated Database Item
Proposed steps
  1. Filter by approved status
  2. Postdom: Publish Video
  3. Postdom: Post Reaches a Terminal State
  4. Notion: Update Database Item
Intended outcome, not an observed result
An approved Notion item schedules a short-form video and stores the real outcome on the source item.

Match approval to the exact content version, not only the item's current label.

5RSSProposed workflow · not installable

Turn new RSS items into scheduled short-form video posts with Postdom

Original proposal · catalog rank 5 · priority P2

Proposed trigger
RSS by Zapier: New Item in Feed
Proposed steps
  1. Resolve the approved video URL and caption
  2. Postdom: Publish Video
  3. Postdom: Post Reaches a Terminal State
Intended outcome, not an observed result
A feed item schedules an already-prepared video under workspace policy and returns the publish outcome.

An RSS item needs an already-prepared video. This proposal does not turn an article into a video.

6Webhooks by ZapierProposed workflow · not installable

Schedule short-form video from any webhook and return the Postdom outcome

Original proposal · catalog rank 6 · priority P2

Proposed trigger
Webhooks by Zapier: Catch Hook
Proposed steps
  1. Postdom: Publish Video
  2. Postdom: Post Reaches a Terminal State
  3. Webhooks by Zapier: POST the normalized outcome
Intended outcome, not an observed result
Any approved app can request a schedule through Zapier and receive Postdom's terminal per-destination result.

A webhook payload is input, not proof of the sender's publishing authority.

7SlackProposed workflow · not installable

Send Postdom approval-aware publishing outcomes to Slack

Original proposal · catalog rank 7 · priority P2

Proposed trigger
Postdom: Post Reaches a Terminal State
Proposed steps
  1. Route published, partial, failed, or missed-approval states
  2. Slack: Send Channel Message
Intended outcome, not an observed result
The content team sees the actual terminal outcome and whether human action is required.

The source connector polls an explicit post ID; this is not a workspace-wide feed of every post.

8AirtableProposed workflow · not installable

Schedule Airtable content with Postdom and record social video performance

Original proposal · catalog rank 8 · priority P2

Proposed trigger
Airtable: New or Updated Record
Proposed steps
  1. Postdom: Publish Video
  2. Postdom: New Performance Snapshot
  3. Airtable: Update Record
Intended outcome, not an observed result
An approved content record schedules its video and stores only the performance evidence Postdom actually reports.

A missing snapshot or null field is not zero engagement. Preserve the reported availability state.

9Google DriveProposed workflow · not installable

Upload Google Drive videos and publish them to TikTok, Reels, and Shorts with Postdom

Original proposal · catalog rank 9 · priority P2

Proposed trigger
Google Drive: New File in Folder
Proposed steps
  1. Postdom: Upload Media
  2. Postdom: Publish Video
  3. Postdom: Post Reaches a Terminal State
Intended outcome, not an observed result
A finished Drive video is uploaded without forwarding Postdom credentials to storage, scheduled privately, and followed through its terminal outcome.

This upload flow is a proposal, not a deployed action. The source requires actual video metadata. Its private-scheduling wording is not a claim that Instagram Reels has a private publishing setting.

10DiscordProposed workflow · not installable

Schedule approved social videos from Discord and post Postdom outcomes back

Original proposal · catalog rank 10 · priority P2

Proposed trigger
Discord: New Message with Approved Video
Proposed steps
  1. Postdom: Publish Video
  2. Postdom: Post Reaches a Terminal State
  3. Discord: Send Channel Message
Intended outcome, not an observed result
A moderated Discord request schedules a short-form video and reports the real outcome to the channel.

A channel message is not approval by itself. Keep the actual reviewer and approved asset identifiable.

Can you post to TikTok from Zapier with Postdom?

Not through a public Postdom Zapier install today. The Google Sheets idea above describes a possible ready-row → publishing request → result write-back flow. It is not a working Postdom Zap you can switch on.

What can an AI agent do without Zapier?

Follow the separate Postdom agent workflow using an accepted video URL or already-stored media handle. The released MCP examples use TikTok Only you and YouTube private visibility; YouTube is marked not made for kids. AI-made flags are fixed to true, and the TikTok helper asserts preview and consent while disabling comments, Duet and Stitch.

Those assertions do not prove human review happened. Check the full settings in the linked setup, require actual preview and express consent where needed, and stop if the audience, disclosures or content do not fit. This is not a fresh-upload workaround or a public-release promise.

What should you record after sending?

Keep the returned post ID and read the same publishing request. Scheduled or awaiting approval is not published. If destinations differ, retain each result and do not repeat successful destinations blindly.

A missing performance snapshot is not a report of no engagement. A null is not zero. Use the metric availability reference to interpret what Postdom reports, rather than filling gaps in your spreadsheet.

Questions before you connect anything

Is Postdom live in the Zapier marketplace?

No. Postdom's connector is in pre-submission, not publicly installable. There is no live Postdom Zapier app listing or published Postdom template. The workflow proposals below are not install links or executed Zaps.

Can I post to TikTok from Zapier with Postdom today?

Not through a public Postdom Zapier connector. For a Zapier workflow, inspect an available publishing app's actual TikTok action and requirements. For a calendar task, use the TikTok scheduling guide. Postdom's separate released MCP example uses Only you visibility and does not schedule a public release.

Can an AI agent use social media Zapier workflows with Postdom?

The proposed Postdom agent-and-Zapier flow is not available to install. You can instead follow the separate Postdom MCP setup guide, without Zapier, and check its fixed audience and disclosure settings first. The released request path was tested with local mock responses, not authenticated client publication to a real account. The agent cannot approve its own work, grant social-account access or widen human-set policy.

Which social destinations does the proposed Zapier connector cover?

Postdom's publishing scope is supplied finished video for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn, Facebook Reels, X, Snapchat Spotlight, Threads and Bluesky. That does not include every Instagram or YouTube feature. The proposed Zapier connector does not expand that scope or generate the video.

Are the workflow cards on this page live Zapier templates?

No. All 10 entries are unpublished proposals, shown in their original catalog order. They describe intended workflows, not tested partner-app triggers, published templates or a promised release date.

Will testing a Zap publish a real social post?

It can. Zapier performs an action when you test that action step, so a publishing action can change the connected account. Inspect the selected record and mapped fields, obtain permission for the exact test, and confirm the actual result in the destination app. Do not assume a test is a dry run.

Do I need a paid Zapier plan?

Check the features your workflow uses. Zapier's Filter feature requires a paid plan; other requirements depend on the chosen apps and steps. A publishing service may have a separate subscription. This page does not sell an available Postdom Zapier connector or quote a combined price.
