The 3-to-90-second range is a Reels publishing requirement. Treating it as the rule for Facebook Feed video, Stories, or in-stream ads collapses products Meta documents separately.
A reel published as a story is a different object
The same Reels page also says: “A reel published as a story on a Facebook Page can not exceed 60 seconds.” That 60-second ceiling is a reel published as a story on a Facebook Page. It is not the Reels bound, and it is not Facebook Stories in general.
Pages, not a personal profile

Aspect ratio is a range, not only 9:16
The specification table lists “9 x 16” as the target. Error 1363040 states what Meta rejects: “Aspect ratios for videos need to be between 16x9 and 9x16.” A square Reel sits inside that range. Reading the table target as the only legal ratio invents a rejection Meta’s error table does not write.

Duration. A Facebook Reels file must be 3 to 90 seconds. Both ends are enforced. A 2-second or 91-second file is refused before handoff.
Container format. Meta writes “.mp4 (recommended)”. Postdom records that as recorded, not enforced(video/mp4). The Facebook Reels path does not reject another container Meta did not forbid. Postdom’s own upload enum accepts video/mp4, video/quicktime; that pair is Postdom’s request gate, not a closed list Meta published for Reels.
Resolution and aspect. Meta’s floor is 540 x 960 pixels. Recommended frame 1080 x 1920 pixels (recommended). Minimum is 540 x 960 pixels. Those figures are documented and not gated: the Facebook Reels preflight reads duration only. Inventing a rejection from the recommended frame would refuse a Reel Meta’s table still describes as in range.
Frame rate. Meta states “24 to 60 frames per second”. Postdom does not check it. A number that is not gated is not treated as enforced here.
