Instagram caption generator
Type your website. Our Instagram caption generator reads it and writes 3 captions about your business, written to be saved and shared.
Free, no sign-up. Up to 3 runs a day.
How it writes
The first line works as a hook. Then a short list or steps, written as your business, a soft ending, and no hashtags. Never an ad, never a made-up number.
Example for a coffee shop
1 · Insider list
What we see behind our Bondi coffee counter that most people never get to see. We roast our own beans, so the coffee in your cup started in our shop. The pastries are baked every morning, and the oven is on before the first cup. A good coffee and a warm pastry make a slow morning feel like a plan. We taste the coffee as we roast, because the beans tell us when they're ready. Most of our day is small things done the same careful way. Next time you're in Bondi, look behind the counter and you'll see it too.

What makes an Instagram caption work
The rules our writer follows for captions. Measured ones show the figure; the rest are house rules.
House rule
Make the first line the hook
The platform cuts the caption after a line or two. The first line has to earn the tap on "more", and it's never a question.
House rule
Tell it, don't sell it
A list or steps the reader can use, then a soft ending. A save or share invitation is fine; a hard ask isn't.
Comment-to-get asks: 0.51x
Never "comment KEYWORD"
On a post meant to reach new people, a comment-to-get ask did worse.
House rule
Only true specifics
Real steps, real amounts, real names from your website. Never a made-up client, number or result.
House rule
Leave out hashtags
Postdom's captions put the effort into the words. Add your own if you want them.
House rule
Write like a person
First person, short lines, contractions. Never brochure words like "leverage" or "ensure".
Measured figures are from 1,018 TikTok photo posts and 105 Instagram carousels (1 Oct 2026), each against its own account's median views. The rest are Postdom's house rules.

What Instagram documents for a caption, and the hashtag cap it added in December 2025.
Instagram's Help Center still says 30 hashtags; the 5-hashtag cap came later, from Instagram's head, Adam Mosseri.
Questions
Is the Instagram caption generator free?
Yes. You get 3 captions a run and up to 3 runs a day without an account. Sign up free for more captions and the finished posts.
How long should an Instagram caption be?
Instagram allows up to 2,200 characters. Ours run 60 to 150 words: long enough to give the reader something, short enough to read in one go. The first line does the most work, because it's what shows before "more".
Why are there no hashtags?
Postdom's writer leaves them out and puts the effort into the words. If you add your own, keep to 5: Instagram has capped posts at 5 hashtags since December 2025.
Does it work for Reels and carousels?
Yes. The captions work under a Reel, a carousel or a single photo. On a carousel, the caption can carry the steps the slides don't have room for.
Will the captions make things up about my business?
They shouldn't. The writer only uses what your homepage says and never invents a client, a number or a result. Read each one before you post it.
Why does each caption end the way it does?
Each one ends softly, with a takeaway or a save or share invitation. A hard ask (book now, DM us, link in bio) did worse in our data on posts meant to reach new people.
What does Postdom do with my website?
It reads your homepage once to write the Instagram captions. It doesn't create an account or post anything. Results are kept for 7 days, so the same site gets the same Instagram captions.
