Instagram carousel splitter for seamless panoramas
This Instagram carousel splitter cuts one wide image into 2 to 20 slides, 1080 × 1350 (4:5) or 1080 × 1080 (1:1), that meet edge to edge, so a swipe moves across a single picture. It picks the slide count that crops least, and you can change it.
Split your panorama
Choose a wide picture, pick the slide shape and count, and swipe the preview to see the seams line up. Your image stays in this browser tab.
Or drop it here. PNG, JPG or WebP. Panoramas and wide designs work best.
Your slides appear here, side by side, the way a swipe moves across them.

How the Instagram carousel splitter works
A seamless carousel is one long picture cut into equal slices. The splitter does the arithmetic so the slices are exact.
- 1
Add a wide picture
A panorama, a long design or a group photo. The splitter suggests how many slides fit its width with the least cropped away.
- 2
Choose 4:5 or square, and the count
4:5 takes up more of the screen in the feed. Add or remove slides and slide the crop to keep what matters.
- 3
Swipe the preview, then download
The slides sit side by side with no gaps, the way the carousel moves. Download them numbered in order and post them as one carousel.
Carousel splitter
Each slide is the same width of the same crop, so the right edge of slide 1 is exactly the left edge of slide 2. Nothing is scaled differently from one slide to the next, which is what makes a line or a horizon carry straight across.
Instagram takes up to 20 photos in a carousel. For a panorama shot on a phone, 3 to 5 portrait slides usually crop the least; the splitter's suggestion is your image's width divided by one slide's width, rounded.
- 4:5 portrait: 1080 × 1350 per slide, Instagram's long-standing tall feed size.
- 1:1 square: 1080 × 1080 per slide, for a shorter, wider strip.
Seamless carousel Instagram
Instagram shows the first slide in the feed and the next one peeks in as people swipe, so put a reason to keep going near the right edge of slide 1: a line that runs off it, half a word, an arrow.
Keep faces and words away from the seams. A seam is exact, but the app's swipe animation and the gap between slides on some screens make anything cut in half harder to read.

Questions about the Instagram carousel splitter
How many slides should my panorama be?
Divide the image's width by its height, then by 0.8 for portrait slides or by 1 for square ones, and round. The splitter does this for you, and tells you how much of the picture the count you choose crops away.
Will the slides line up perfectly?
Yes. They are cut from one crop at one scale, so each slide's edge continues on the next. Post them in the numbered order as a single carousel.
What's the difference from the Instagram carousel maker?
The carousel maker writes and designs new slides from your website or a topic. This splitter cuts a picture you already have into slides.
Why are my slides soft?
If your image is shorter than 1350 pixels for portrait slides, or 1080 for square, the slides are scaled up. The splitter tells you when that happens; start from a larger original for sharp slides.
Can I mix a panorama with other photos?
Yes. Download the slides, then add other photos before or after them when you build the carousel in Instagram. Keep the panorama's slides together and in order.
Is my picture uploaded?
No. It is opened and cut by your browser. Only if you press sign up or sign in to download does this browser keep it, on your device, so your slides are ready if you return within 30 minutes. It is deleted when you come back.
