Configured tool · write

# `get_media`

Verify one uploaded media handle before publishing it.

write · non-destructive · closed-world

Human and agent roles

## Configured boundary

### Configured workspace

This workspace-scoped verification records stored or failed state and may queue a probe. It can inspect only handles created inside the configured workspace; it cannot read arbitrary R2 keys or make pending or failed media publishable.

This reference describes the hosted server at https://api.postdom.com/mcp, which runs current source, with a workspace-scoped key created under Connected apps → For developers. The published `@postdom/mcp@0.4.0` package has 14 of these tools: it lacks list_posts, create_slideshow, account_music and the media array.

Callable schema

## Input fields

Field names match the configured tool schema. Runtime-only constraints are labeled separately from schema validation.

| Field | Type | Contract |
| --- | --- | --- |
| media_handle Required | pd_media_… | Valid Postdom media handle The handle returned by upload_media. |

**For AI agents:** Send only fields exposed by the current tool schema.

**Known failure:** Do not invent platform settings, account IDs, media fields, or setup steps.

Synthetic values

## Example call

Identifiers and values are examples. They do not represent a connected workspace or accepted media source.

_EXAMPLE CALL · CONFIGURED TOOL SCHEMA_

```
get_media({
  media_handle: "pd_media_11111111-1111-4111-8111-111111111111"
})
```

Observed API record

## Return shape

Returns pending, stored, or failed after Postdom verifies the uploaded object.

**`media_handle · status` (identity · state)** — The exact handle and pending, stored, or failed state.

**`content_type · size_bytes` (declared media)** — The upload contract values checked against the stored object.

**`media_url` (URL | null)** — Internal resolved media URL when stored; null otherwise.

**`failure_reason` (string | null)** — Why verification failed, when available.

Stop conditions

## Agent handoff

`pending`

### Wait briefly

Poll again with bounded backoff; do not submit the handle yet.

`stored`

### Publish by handle

Pass media_handle to publish_video and omit video_url.

`failed`

### Return the reason

Stop and preserve the exact failure reason; create a fresh upload only after correcting the source.

Examples are synthetic. Human workspace-key creation and revocation remain in Postdom under Connected apps → For developers.
