# Availability states

Five exact values explain modeled field availability. They do not guarantee that every snapshot contains a measurement.

Five wire values

## State reference

| State | Entered when | Next | Agent handoff |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| available | The modeled baseline says the platform exposes the field. | A later evidence review may reclassify it. | Preserve a number or null exactly as returned. |
| delayed(2-3d) | The field is expected after a two-to-three-day delay. | Retry after the evidence window. | Keep a current null distinct from zero. |
| estimable | Suitable evidence could support a derived value. | No computation is promised. | Do not calculate without a supported method. |
| never | The platform does not expose the field. | Remains null in normalization. | Return null with the explicit reason. |
| unverified | Recorded evidence has not verified availability. | Requires an evidence-backed review. | Return null with the explicit reason. |

Value semantics

## Null guarantees

 MEASURED VALUE **0**

### Measured nothing

Zero is evidence and remains numeric.

 NO VALUE **null**

### No backed value

Never and unverified include reasons. Other nulls may have a null reason.

Evidence scope

## Modeled boundary

### Classification, not coverage

The baseline maps nine fields across nine destinations. A non-never state does not prove that Postdom currently returns a value.

`estimable` means suitable evidence could support derivation. Postdom does not currently promise that computation.

This synthetic excerpt shows the explicit reason guaranteed for an unverified field.
