# How to schedule Facebook posts and Reels in 2026: steps, limits and a faster way

_How to schedule Facebook posts and Reels, checked against Meta's own help pages on 7 October 2026: the Meta Business Suite steps, the Reels limits, where scheduled posts live and how Postdom schedules for you._

## The short answer

- Meta Business Suite is Meta's own scheduler. Choose Create reel or Create post, pick your Page, add the content, choose to schedule ahead, set a date and time, then confirm.
- Scheduled Reels wait under Content, then Posts and reels, then Scheduled. Meta limits how far ahead you can schedule, so check the date picker.
- Facebook Reels run 3 to 90 seconds on Meta's Reels publishing guide, in 9:16 at 1080 x 1920 pixels, with a 540 x 960 minimum.
- Postdom schedules approved videos and slideshows to Facebook Pages for you. By default nothing posts until you approve it.
- Facebook Reels can be posted only to Pages through Meta's publishing API, which is how Postdom posts them.

How to schedule Facebook posts: open Meta Business Suite, choose Create post or Create reel, select your Page, add your content, choose the option to schedule ahead, set a date and time, then confirm. You will find the queued item under Content, then Scheduled. Postdom can also schedule approved videos and slideshows to Facebook for you.

**Last checked: 7 October 2026.** We checked the Reels steps against Meta's Business Help Center page on creating and scheduling a reel, and the Reels limits against Meta's Reels Publishing API guide, which shows an update date of 30 June 2026. Button names change, so if a label looks different, look for the same step in a nearby menu. Facebook Reels are the format we can document to the letter, so most of this guide covers them.

## How to schedule a Facebook post

Here is the desktop route in Meta Business Suite for a Reel, as Meta describes it. Facebook is one of the destinations you can pick in the same flow that Meta uses for Instagram Reels.

1. Open Meta Business Suite on a computer and choose **Create reel** from Home or Content. For a photo or text post, choose Create post and look for the same schedule step.
2. Under **Post to**, select your Facebook Page. Do not leave an Instagram destination selected unless you also mean to publish there.
3. Choose **Add video**, pick or upload a thumbnail, and write the caption under Reel details. Finish your edits before you start, because Meta's own guide says video editing in this flow applies to Facebook and not Instagram.
4. Choose **Next**, then the option to schedule ahead, and set the date and time. Check which time zone you are in, especially when you work for someone elsewhere.
5. Check the destination and the settings Meta offers for it, then choose **Schedule**. Do not choose Share, which publishes now, or Save.

Meta limits how far into the future you can schedule in this flow, and the date picker will not offer dates past that limit. We could not read the exact window in Meta's page, so check the picker rather than a number from a guide.

## How to schedule posts on Facebook

You have two sensible routes, and they suit different jobs.

- **Meta Business Suite.** Best for a handful of posts you make yourself. You create each post, then pick the time.
- **A scheduler that makes the posts too.** Best when posting every week is the hard part. Postdom reads your website, makes the videos and slideshows, and schedules the ones you approve. You still decide what goes out.

If you also post on other apps, our guides show the same job elsewhere: [how to schedule Instagram Reels](/guides/how-to-schedule-instagram-reels), [how to schedule TikTok posts](/guides/how-to-schedule-tiktok-posts) and [how to schedule YouTube Shorts](/guides/how-to-schedule-youtube-shorts).

## How to schedule Facebook Reels

Schedule Facebook Reels the same way as above, but check the file first. A Reel that breaks Meta's limits is refused, and you lose the slot. These are Meta's figures for a Reel published through its Reels API, from Meta's Reels Publishing API guide (updated 30 June 2026, read by Postdom on 3 September 2026):

_Facebook Reels limits, Meta's Reels Publishing API guide_

| Setting | Value |
| --- | --- |
| Length | 3 to 90 seconds |
| Shape | 9:16 recommended. Aspect ratios must sit between 16:9 and 9:16 |
| Recommended size | 1080 x 1920 pixels. Minimum 540 x 960 pixels |
| File type | .mp4 recommended |
| Frame rate | 24 to 60 frames per second |
| A Reel shared as a Page story | No longer than 60 seconds |

These figures apply to Reels. They are not the rules for Feed video, Stories or ads. Run your file through our [video spec checker](/tools/video-spec-checker) or read the full [Facebook Reels video requirements](/platforms/facebook-reels/video-requirements) before you schedule.

## How to schedule Facebook posts for free

Meta Business Suite is Meta's own scheduler, and you can schedule Reels in it without a separate tool. Postdom's Free plan also schedules for $0: 1 post a month on 2 accounts on any platform, with no card, and a small Postdom watermark on each post. Paid plans start at $39 a month for 30 posts across 3 accounts, and they can remove the watermark. See [pricing](/pricing).

## How to schedule Facebook posts with Postdom

[Postdom](/) turns your website into ready-to-post videos, slideshows and single images in your brand. Connect your Facebook Page and approved videos and slideshows are scheduled to it. You approve, edit or skip each post, and Postdom learns from your choices. By default nothing posts until you approve it, and approved posts go out at 9am and 7pm in your time zone, up to 2 a day per account, with nothing between 10pm and 7am.

Postdom posts Reels through Meta's publishing API, which Meta says publishes Reels only to Facebook Pages. Before anything is sent, Postdom checks the video's length, file type and size against the platform's rules. The same video can go to Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and LinkedIn too.

## How to find, change or cancel a scheduled Facebook post

In Meta Business Suite, go to Content, then Posts and reels, then Scheduled. Find the Reel, check its destination and time, and use its menu for the actions Meta offers for that item. In Postdom, open the post in the Schedule dashboard, then use Change time, or Don't post to take it off the schedule. It stays in your Library.

A scheduled post is waiting to be sent. It is not yet published. After the time passes, open the post on Facebook and check it went live.

## What should you check before you schedule?

- The destination. Make sure only the Page you mean is selected.
- The time zone. Confirm it before you save.
- The file. Length, shape and size against the table above.
- The caption. Read it once more, because a scheduled post goes out as written.
- Whether the video is AI-made. Postdom turns the AI label on by default for TikTok, Instagram and YouTube and says so plainly.

## What gets views on Facebook Reels, from our data

We have not studied Facebook directly. Our study of 1,272 TikToks and Instagram Reels from 160 accounts compared each video with its own account's usual views, and these patterns are a fair first test for Reels on Facebook:

- Hooks written as on-screen text drew 1.79 times the usual views. Spoken-only hooks drew 0.62 times.
- Opening on a real place drew 2.28 times. A product close-up drew 0.56 times.
- List videos drew 2.12 times.
- Ending on a quick recap drew 1.52 times. Ending with "let me know below" drew 0.61 times.

These are correlations, so test them on your own Page. For the full study, read [what makes a short video go viral](/blog/what-makes-a-short-video-go-viral). If you want to earn from your Reels, see [how to make money on Facebook](/blog/how-to-make-money-on-facebook).

## What to avoid

- Choosing Share when you meant Schedule. Share publishes at once.
- Scheduling a file you have not checked against Meta's Reels limits.
- Leaving an Instagram destination ticked when you only meant Facebook.
- Scheduling weeks of posts and never checking them. Open the Scheduled list now and then.
- Treating a scheduled post as published. Check that it went live.
